2008 Spokes Child - Dorian Burnell
Dear Friend,
On Sunday, August 10, 2008, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, a Corvette show will be held at the Washington Township Elementary School, Route 100, south of Bally, PA. This year’s Corvettes for Kids, Inc., spokeschild is Dorian Burnell.
Dorian is a seven-year-old boy born with multiple neurologic structural defects. Dorian has spina bifida, a condition where the spinal cord is exposed due to non-closure of the low back. He also has hydrocephalus, a condition of improper spinal fluid circulation around the brain, and Chiari malformations which are structural defects to the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls balance. Dorian has undergone multiple surgeries since the second day of his life including placement of a shunt to redirect fluid away from his brain. Despite all this, Dorian still has partial paralysis from the waist down. Dorian relies on a wheelchair most of the time but can walk short distances with specialized crutches. An avid baseball player on the Earl Township Athletic Association Challenger league, he also loves playing with his cousins, going to the beach, music, video games, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The following are ways you can help this family.

1. Show underwriter – For a minimum donation of $2000 you will be a corporate sponsor. Call for details. Mike Black, (610) 970-8801.
2. T-Shirt Sponsor – For a $1000 donation your business advertisement will be put on the back of our show t-shirt. A smaller ad is available at the bottom of the shirt for a $500 donation. Spots are limited, reserve early by contacting Chip Conrad, (610) 369-0724.
3. Patron – A $250 donation allows you to be an underwriter to a specific area at the event (i.e.—children’s games, auction, or volunteer refreshments) in addition to a listing in the day-of-show brochure*. Call Diane Chernaskey, (610) 367-6085.
4. Donator – Your $100 donation will entitle you to a listing in our day-of-show
brochure*. Call Michael Black, (610) 970-8801. (*Deadline for day-of-show brochure July 11)
5. Support CFK, wall campaign – Your business may wish to raise money by selling $1.00 support cards to hang on a wall at your business. Please contact Ryan or Laura Wasser at 610-763-7051 to organize your campaign.
6. Auction Donation—Your business may wish to donate an item or gift certificate to the event auction. Please mail gift certificates or call Diane Chernaskey, (610) 367-6085 for additional questions.(Deadline for auction donations is June 20, 2008)
7. Golf Tournament—$100 donation will enable your business to be a hole sponsor. We also need golfers. The tournament will be held at Arrowhead Golf Course, Douglassville, Saturday, July 19. Register your foursome at www.corvettesforkidsinc.org or email jburnell51601@hotmail.com with questions. .
